Houston’s Farm is the first agricultural business in Tasmania and one of a small handful of businesses Australia wide to  achieve the prestigious ‘Platinum’ level of EnviroVeg, the highest level awarded.

EnviroVeg is a newly-launched voluntary program which gives growers recognition for their environmental practices. The program is managed by industry body, AUSVEG and is verified by an independent auditor.

Achieving accreditation is part of the farm’s commitment to producing a product which is fully sustainable for our environment and works in combination with our integrated pest management program.

The project to achieve EnviroVeg Platinum status has been managed by Agronomist, Petra Doust who is tasked with making sure the farm has in place systems and records required to achieve and maintain the highest level of accreditation, including a step up in record keeping and regular monitoring of environmental performance.
